The Guernsey in Natural
The Guernsey is a traditional Scottish fisherman sweater, where the bottom half is left plain as to not snag on any of the hooks and tools found on a fishing vessel. Up top those patterns are not random. They symbolize the environment and themes of each clan or village. Here we chose to keep it simple with a pearl style stitch up top to call back to our roots in "Oystertown" Connecticut (Norwalk),where clamming and oystering is the backbone of our economy and culture. Separated from the plain knit bottom half by a fishing net crosshatch, which runs through the breast pocket.Â
These have been given a final rinse to reduce shrinkage. As with all knits they will grow as you wear them. If they grow to the point of being to big and baggy you can wash cool and tumble dry low to bring them back to their original fit.
Fully fashioned in Queens, NY.
Model is 6' 180 lbs. and wearing a large for a true fit.
